Show 21 Grand County Residents Sign Communist Petition Of the signatures appearing on a petition to form a Communist Party in Utah, one-third were from Moab, said County Clerk Barbara Domenick Wednesday. The petition, forwarded to m her from Lt. Governor Clyde L. Miller for verification of voter registration, contained a ; total of 63 signatures, 21 of them stating their residence as Moab, Grand County. ' Mrs. Domenick also said ; that her verification revealed I that only 11 of the signators 'i are registered to vote, and that uic itinaining 10 names will be stricken from the petition for this reason. The petition reads: We the undersigned registered voters do declare as follows, we desire to form a new political party in the State of Utah. Said party shall be known as The Communist Party. We state that we are members of this party or that we intend to become members. We do also desire to participate in a county organizing convention to elect county officers and delegates to a state organizing convention. |
