Show Dead Horse Point Park Center Opens Mar. 1 5 The Dead Horse Point State Sta-te Park visitor center will open on March 15,1972 for the season. The center will be op-en op-en from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. seven days per week. As the season goes on the hours of the center will change. The entrance feel of $1.00" per car for the daily ticket or the $7.00 State Park annual an-nual permit will be required for park entrance. For those persons planning to use the State Park facilities facili-ties several times during the season, it would, be wise to purchase the State Park annual an-nual permit early. The permit per-mit will admit the purchaser to all Utah State Parks and all persons who accompany the purchaser in a private noncommercial vehicle. One r. permit will be needed per car entering the park area. The permit does not cover charges for cabins, firewood, electrical hookups, showers or boat mooring. Golden Eagle permits are not valid in the Utah State Parks. For groups larger than 10 persons planning to visit or camp in the State Park, should confirm reservations by writing to the park area they plan to visit in advance. If confirmation is received from the Park Superintendent the Group Use Fee will be . allowed. During the month's of Jan-uray Jan-uray and February 1,912 persons per-sons visited Dead Horse Point State Park. The number of persons visiting the park in the same two months one year ago totaled 1,060 persons, per-sons, this represents an increase in-crease of 80 percent in visitation visi-tation to date this year. Camping has had the most noticable increase, during the first two months this year 162 persons camped at the park. For the same period of time one year ago 44 persons camped over night. This represents rep-resents an increase in camping camp-ing of 269 percent in one years time. The Southeastern Utah area should see a exceptionally exception-ally good tourist season if visitation vis-itation of the parks remain this high. |
