W. McArthur A fire that broke out on the property of Mr. and Mrsi J. iCurtis was quickly brought under control by the Moab ' Fire Dept. last Sunday afternoon. after-noon. The fire according to Mr. Curtis was started by sparks from an incinerator he had just installed that morning morn-ing for the purpose of burning burn-ing trash, as he considered open burning dangerous. The property located about a half mile east of the Spanish Valley Val-ley Animal Clinic is used for pasturing horses with the Curtis family residing in a, Mobile home. Mr. Curtis stated that he was intown when the fire broke out and his wife came to town to tell him of it. In the meantime a neighbor who was saddling a horse sprayed water on the blaze until the Fire Department arrived while another neighbor phoned phon-ed the Fire Dent. The spot in which the fire began was a trash dump atop th? bank of Pack Creek filled with discarded automobile bodies and old lumber. The dump located between two tall Cottonwood Cot-tonwood trees was about fifteen fif-teen feet away from a shed filled with hay. . |
