Show Snow in May Is Unique On LaSal Course Officials of the Soil Conservation Service and U.S. Forest Service took snow measurements for May on the LaSal Mountain snowcourse last week. They reported that the lower course showed no snow, however 13.6 inches in-ches were recorded on the upper course. There were 5.5 inches of water measured there as well. Forest Service officials reported that although snow measurements have been taken during May in previous years, this is the first year that there has actually been snow still on the course at the time of the reading. They reported that 2.95 inches of moisture were recorded during the past month. A report from the Bureau Bu-reau of Reclamation indicated in-dicated that the Colorado Colo-rado is now flowing about 25,000 c.f.s. and is to increase to about 35,000 c.f.s. during early June. In Cataract Canyon, the flow is already 40,000 c.f.s. and should increase in-crease to 60,000 c.f.s. at its peak in June. |
