Show i Ha W3 Friendship Quilt made by all the girls and adults going on the Girl Scout trip to Mexico will be presented to "Our Cabana" for their use as a gift from Utah Girl Scouts. Each girl made a block by outlining the shape of their hand and putting their name, address and troop number on the quilt block. Anita Grames, Junior Troop 285 held their Court of Awards and seventeen girls received badges they have been working work-ing for during the past year. Kim Turner received the highest number of badges, 23 and in addition World Association Assoc-iation pins and membership year pins were presented. 5 year pins were awarded to Debbie Southards, Sena Taylor, Tay-lor, Kim Turner and through an error, Coleen Wimmer's did not arrive in time for this ceremony. It has been ordered for her. Jeanette Badger was the highest cookie seller for this troop with 100 boxes sold which earned for her the "Cookie Patch." Others earn ing the patch were Vickie Leavell, Kim Turner, Marcie McTaggert, Barbara Hines and Colleen Wimmer. A girl must sell 75 boxes in order to earn a patch. Highest Junior badges that can be awarded are Sign of the Arrow and Sign of the Star. Both were awarded to Vickie Leavell, Lori Smith, Kim Turner, Sena Taylor and Coleen Wimmer. Sign of the Arrow was awarded to Debbie Southards. This troop hosted Brownies from Larraine Turner's troop and games around the life of Juliette Low were played and taught which helped to pass off requirements for badge work. |
