Show iBusy Week l In City Court f A busy week was experienced experienc-ed in City Court as persons ' charged with various offenses appeared before Judge Don Crist. June 4, Kenneth Wayne Harless appeared before the court for a trial on the charge of possession of a controlled substance. Attorney Harry Snow appeared on behalf of the defendant, and County Attorney Bill Benge appeared on behalf of the State of Utah. After all the evidence was presented, it was the decision of the court that Mr. Harless was innocent of the charge. He appeared at the same time on a charge of reckless driving. He had previously been charged with driving while intoxicated, but this charge was dismissed, and the 1 defendant entered a plea of guilty to the charge of reckless driving. He was sentenced to pay a fine of $125, or in default of payment to serve 25 days in jail. On June 9 a number of matters were heard. Dennis L. Bailey and Leslie Weiss both appeared that day on charges of public intoxication. Both defendants stated they were guilty of the charge, and each was sentenced to pay a fine of $35. Eben Rex Scharf appeared to answer to a charge of drinking in public. He entered a plea of guilty and paid a fine of $30. Ted Milner and Shari Milner both appeared June 9 on . charges of illegal possession of a controlled substance. They both entered a plea of guilty and were sentenced to pay fines of $75 each. Randy Bell appeared before the court for trial on the charge of driving during revocation of his driver's license. Mr. Snow appeared ' representing the defendant as counsel and County Attorney Benge prosecuted prose-cuted on behalf of the State. After evidence was presented, it was the decision of the court that the defendant was guilty to the charge, and he was sentenced to pay a fine of $100. On May 11 Kenneth W. Gamboe was scheduled to appear for trial on the charge of illegal possession of a controlled substance. Appearing Appear-ing with -him was Attorney Harry Snow, with the County Attorney Bill Benge also appearing. Atty. Benge made a motion to dismiss the case, and the charge was dismissed by Judge Crist. |
