Show Sorority Groups Hold Joint I Meeting at Desert Inn : Alpha liho chapter of Ep- silon Siinnn Alpha extended a : final hand clasp to the mem- bers of their newly organized " sister chapter Beta Eta. On ; Saturday, May 11, at the Des-: Des-: eit Inn, Alpha Rho held its ; Founder's Day Banquet and 1 hosted the chartering of its ; sister chapter. New members r were pledged by Utah Coun- cil 1st Vice President Joyce ; Urry. Those assisting her were Shirley Buckley, Utah : State Council 2nd Vice Presi- dent, and Erma McGuire from : Clearfield, Utah. Girls tli;;t were pledged were; Linda 0'-: 0'-: Neal, Karan Curtis, Dorothy ; Cizart, Nori Kawaguchi, Shar-' Shar-' on McMulin, Linda Caiiepa, ; Belly Badger, Diane Dicker-: Dicker-: son, Barbara Peterson, and Shcrri Buff.. ; Tlie transfer ceremony was : then conducted by Joyce I Urry. Those transferring from : Alpha Klio were Glenda Ciarus 5 and Sherri Brock. ; Elsie Ahirami.u, Utah Stale Council President then offici-; offici-; aled at the installation cere- mony. Officers of the new chapter are; Glenda Ciarus, president, Karen Curtis, vice president, Barbara Peterson. Recording secretary, Nori Kawaguchi, treasurer, Diane Dickerson, corresponding secretary, sec-retary, Dorothy Cozart, education edu-cation director. Later in file evening Lorraine Self presented pre-sented a book of Robert's Rules of Order to the new chapter. She then told the group about the founding of Epsilon Sigma Alpha in 1939 by E. Robert Palmer and mentioned some of the highlights high-lights of ESA history. ESA is an international organization organiza-tion for women and its sister helping hands has made the world a better place in which to live, by giving of themselves. them-selves. The new chapter will begin be-gin their meetings in June and continue through the summer. |
