New Council member, Harold Har-old Jacobs was barged with responsibilities fr civil defense, de-fense, public heath, and Moab Mo-ab City flood cojtroL Incumbents Incum-bents were char ed with the following responsibilities: Tom Stocks, administration and finance; jjhn Mullen, streets and parkj; Jack West, public safety art! recreation; and Bill McDolgald, water, sewer and planhing. Other commijee members were appointed at the first meeting of the year. David W. Allen was reappointed chairman of the Planning Commission for another 5-year 5-year term; Harold Gaither was named to the Planning Commission for a 5-year term and Edd E. Provonsha was reappointed chairman of the Board of Adjustment. Glenn Victor was reappointed to the . Shade Tree Commission. The Council discussed the progress" of construction at the sewage' disposal plant with architect Al Anderson. The work has been somewhat delayed by the cold weather, they were told, and the January Jan-uary 12th deadline may not be met. All work is satisfactory satisfac-tory on the plant, however, ! Mr. Anderson reported. The Central Utah Insurance Insur-ance Agency was awarded the city insurance bid, as low bidder on a competitive sealed bid basis. The annual premium will be $2,174. Other Oth-er bidders were the David Allen Insurance Agency and Pacific Indemnity1 Group Insurance. In-surance. The Council agreed to lease property in South Moab, near Miller's Shopping Center for a municipal skating rink, at the request of Edward Foy. Water for the recreation project pro-ject will be provided by Ray Holyoak; the city will assist in getting water to the property. pro-perty.
