' i Why roads are hard to come by in Southeastern Utah State Highway engineers resort to hard-rock hard-rock mountain climbing in locating Interstate Route 70 between the San Rafael river and Rattlesnake Bench. Paving contracts for the 70 mile stretch between be-tween Green River and Fremont Junction will be awarded in time for a 1970 opening of the first two lanes, providing a direct link between Eastern United Unit-ed States and Southwestern Utah. Apparent low bidder on this portion of road was Momson-Knudsen Comjpany, well known contracting firm which, built the D&RG rail spur to Potash. |
