Show TV Training Being Taken Here By Eight in Experimental Clcsss Eight students who have shown- interest and ability " in electronics and TV production, pro-duction, are taking part in an experimental educational educa-tional television apprentice appren-tice program at Grand high school. The class, consisting of six seniors and two juniors, jun-iors, Terry Drake, Janice Hatzenbuehler, John Riley, Ed Foy, Terrance Eastin, Kenny Yama, Paul Iver-son Iver-son and Louis Manson, are under the direct supervision supervis-ion of high school instructor, in-structor, Gene Leonard, and taught by Russ Donoghue Don-oghue and Royce Hen-ningson. The apprentice program, new to G'CHS this year, is set up to offer the participating partici-pating students the fundamentals funda-mentals of running a TV studio and working with remote oerations. The students stu-dents will learif the basic operations of all the equipment equip-ment necessary to putting on a show, such as tho cameras ca-meras and video taping machines. In addition 10 learning to run the equipment, equip-ment, they will also learn the basics for planning a show, such as planning camera settings and script waiting. The participating students will also be required re-quired to complete two research papers on some aspect of educational television. tele-vision. Programs planned by the class include: broadcasting broad-casting to the seventh grade English and science programs, speech fundamentals funda-mentals to the h','n school and GCHS dram .. - ! plays to tho Moab puoi . . With the community still . in mind, the class will also produce Football with Coach Richeson, Basketball Basket-ball with Coach Curtis, Student News with Kenny Yama, and "Let's Discuss the Issue," current events discussed by local townspeople. towns-people. In addition to trie above sooi't- program, all home football and basket-hall basket-hall games at both the Junior and Senior high will be video taped and reshown at a later date.
