Show high school highlights . . . by Sherry Oliver Red and White day Friday, Fri-day, September 8, at GC HS was off to a great start when elections of class officers of-ficers took place. Kathy Reeder was chosen as senior sen-ior class president with vice-president, Ben Davidson, David-son, and recretary-treas-urer, John Foscey backing her up. The seniors will be represented by Mary Ann Southards and Jim Stoye in the Student Council. Elected president for the junior class is Jim Drav-age, Drav-age, vice-president Rex Leech, and secretary treasure Christy Holland. Denise Marksberry and Carla Samples were choren eleventh grade representatives. representa-tives. Re-elections for president presi-dent of the sophomore class will be held later this week. Diana Foy will take over the reins of vice-president, vice-president, and Sherry Oliver Oli-ver secretary - treasure. Monenc Nordfelt and Lita Stalcup will be their representatives. 1967 grid season got its kick-off Friday night in an intersquad game between the whites and reds. Despite Des-pite the rain, the whites came' out victorious with a 27-20 tally. This coming Friday, September 15, Red Devils will contest with the Panthers at Cortez. fThe following day Cortz will be here to play the Red Devil B-Team. Beginning Begin-ning this year a sophomore sopho-more football team will be ' formed. All interested sophomore boys will meet in the gym Monday, September Sep-tember 11, after school. Following the game last Friday afternoon, a turn out of a hundred or more students attended the "Hi Dance". Live music was provided by the "Sunshine Express" and half way through the dance Kathy Reeder, Pep Club president presi-dent announced the follow ing B-Team cheerleaders for 1967-68: Robin Down-ard, Down-ard, Vickie Kimball and Rae Lynn Nelson. The Red Devil Mascot this year will be Cindy 'Mallon. The above girls were victorious out of thirteen other girls1 who tried cut and were vot- ( ed on by the Lettermans " -" . ' i -- : . The eight students involved involv-ed are enrolled in Mr. Leonards special research class. Kenny Yama, Jan Hatzenbeuler, Terry Drake Eddie Foy, John Riley, Terry Eastin, and Louis Manson will be trained in operation of cameras, tape recorders, lighting, and all phases of work in a TV studio. They will study and write scripts and learn how to produce and run a program. ' All high school, students have been urged to deposit $3.00 or the full $5.00 for the 1957-68 Mograndah before be-fore November 1, those that do will receive tneir iname engraved on their annual ir::o of charge. "Photography by Curtis" will be hero next Monday, September 18, to finish off . senior pictures and to take photographs of all organizations organ-izations and officers. Senior Sen-ior proofs are expected this weekend, so seniors will have time to look them over and maie their final orders on Monday. Monday, September 25. sophomores and juniors can look forward to having hav-ing their pictures taken by the National School Studio of Salt Lake City. |
