Show Afioab Artists Honored Tuesday Fcr Work m fAoab Trash Cans Two Moab artists wore honored at Moab Chamber of Commerce meet Tuc-.-d:iy for transforming utilitarian ut-ilitarian trash cans into works of art in downtown Moab. Mrs. Juanita Anderson and Mrs. Betty Stanton were named winners of the trash can beautifica-tion beautifica-tion competition sponsored sponsor-ed by the Chamber and spearheaded by Mrs. Mildred Mil-dred Claus. Mrs. Anderson won first prize, 5-5, for a design featuring scenes in Archies Arch-ies National Monument, and third prize, $10, for an aspen scene. Mrs. Stanton Stan-ton won second prize, $15 for a design depicting an Indian girl amid native scenery. The art work was judged judg-ed on the basis of Moab area theme, and workmanship. workman-ship. Judges were Mrs. R. J. Miller," Sr., Mrs. Jeston Blewitt, and Mrs. Ralph Osborne. The project was initiated initiat-ed last spring by Mrs. Claus as part of a continuing contin-uing city wide beautifica-lion beautifica-lion project.
