'lined! Main street Tuesday to watch one of the finest holiday parades the community has ever staged. Sponsored by the Arner ican Legion, the- parade was one of a series of activities act-ivities which, kept the community com-munity busy during the k&g July 4th celebration, which kicked off "Roaring 20 Days" in Moab. Judges were high in praise of the efforts of businesses . and organizations organiza-tions placing floats in the parade, and their praise was reflected in the list of awards made for parade honors. Best overall float in the parade was constructed by the Moab Business and professional pro-fessional Women's club. The float depicted a girl in a huge flowered skirt. The Club will receive the traveling trav-eling trophy presented by the Chamber of Commerce which has been held this year by the Moab Wildlife Federation. Other awards included: Most Original: Canyonlands Canyon-lands Trading Post (Navajo (Nava-jo weaving, from sheep to rug.) Most Patriotic: " Yama's IGA (be-streamered and be-spangled truck). Best Organization float: Alpha Rho sorority (patent (pat-ent medicine wagon). Best Business float : Mode-O-Day (red, white and blue theme) ; and Cen- the Moab BPW club, won the "Best of Parade" award Tuesday. Two lovely floats constructed con-structed by the American Legion Post 54 of Moab, and by the Legion Auxiliary, Auxili-ary, were not placed in competition during the parade, at the request cf the sponsoring organizations. organiza-tions.
