Show Moab Movie Committee Will Continue Efforts The economic impact of the two Paramount movies mov-ies filmed in the Moab area ar-ea this year was summarized summar-ized this week in a budget bud-get sheet forwarded from the movie company's Hollywood Hol-lywood offices. According to the Paramount Para-mount accounting office, total expenditures to Moab Mo-ab and Moabites amounted to over a half million dol lars. This money was spent for salaries for extras, ex-tras, wranglers and riders, and food and lodging for the Hollywood cast. Over 400 local people were hired by the firm; average pay was $300 per person during the filming duration of Blue and Fade In. Local salaries amounted amount-ed to $120,000. The total budget for the two films was over $3 million. During the 6 to 8 week shooting time, 240 Hollywoodites resided in Moab. There is no way of estimating their personal expenditures for clothing, gifts, souvenirs, etc., however how-ever Paramount checks were paid directly to 65 Moab . business firms.
