No action has yet been taken by the governor regarding a removal of the embargo. A. H. Kirkland of the bnreau of entomology, en-tomology, who has just returned from Washington, says that he does not believe be-lieve that the' alfalfa weevil infects the alfalfa seed. And if the seed should be infected, Mr. Kirkland claims that the weevil can be removed by straining. Utah alfalfa seed is at a premium in California, because they produce a hardier plant, says Mr. Kirkland, and thfLJT mbargo is altogether unfair. |
