Tha war department ha jnat issued instruction to all division commanders to impress npon th Arid ofoera and captain of the mounted branch that it is their imperative duty to qualify ia horsemanship in all respect. In the ease of any officer who is incapable of thoroughly qualify) himself th fact will bf noted on- the " efficiency re port' whieb are mada to th war department de-partment aa indicating the lack of an essential for th mounted service. This mav ultimately lead to hi retirement. The endeavor to improve horsemanship horseman-ship ia coincident with th department's effort to procure a better grade of mounts for th army. |
