Show BURGLARS NOT TO BE DISCOURAGED After breaking- through a wooden door at the rear of the Schramm Johnson John-son branch drug store at Main and Fifth South struts with a miner's f ick or a jimmr two burglars were con-rooted con-rooted bv a heavy ateel door on the inside of 'the wooden door and were temporarily balked in their design to rob the store. They wer not completely discouraged discour-aged by this setback, however, but went to the front of the store where they boldly broke opeif the door by smashing the padlock oa the outside, and th inner lock with the pick aad entered the store. Working apparently without fear, the men calmly looted the (tore under th glare of an are light that 1 left burning all night and stole a number of razors and other articles of cutlery and ' merchandise, all valued at about $75. The burglary was reported to the police po-lice department by the clerk who opened the (tore early this morning, and at 11 o'clock Bert Higham, aliaa Bert Parker, an escaped prisoner from the city jail, and Jim Wei, both 21 years old, were arrested on suspicion by Detective Frank M. Wheeling and Patrolman Hlnton after an exciting ehase oa Fourth South street. Hicham was sentenced to term in the city jail for vagrancy a short time ago, and when acting aa a trusty last week, walked ont and waa not seen again until this morning. |
