Show MAKE RECORD RUN : OVER NEVADA DESERT TO CLOSE DIG. DEAL (Special to The Telegram.) TONOPAH. Nev., April 1 One of the most phenomenal automobile run ever made on the desert has been completed between here and Wonder to close a deal Involving (60,000 (or the purchase of property In Wonder. The name of the property la not given, but the purchasers, who returned to Tonopah, are all well known. The trip of 150 miles was made In four hours and five minutes, actual running time. The party consisted of W. W. Booth, owner of the Pally Bonanza; George R. Thatcher of Colorado, J. J. McSorley of Round Mountain and James A. Donovan of Tonopah. Roads were In frightful condition on parts of the trip and for a stretch of three-quarters of a mile the men had to haul and push the machine through water two feet deep. They succeeded In getting into Wonder Just eight minutes before banking hours cloned, when the option expired, and where purchasers were on the ground ready to take the property. They averaged aver-aged thirty-seven miles an hour. |
