Show COURSES DEFINED FOR AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE OF UTAH In reply to a request from Prof. J. A. Bexell, secretary of the board of trustees of the Agricultural college of Utah, for an opinion as to what courses can be offered by that Institution, Attorney-General Breeden said that although the law does not state specifically, it is the general intent of the law that the usual courses for such institutions be taught. The opinion In part reads: You are therefore advised that In my opinion the Legislature intended to permit per-mit the Agricultural college to have courses on all general subjects relating to the education of the Industrial classes as distinguished from the higher academic or collegiate classes, and with this design de-sign It has prohibited courses In engineering engi-neering as distinguished from elementary surveying, liberal arts, pedagogy the legal and medical professions. In oher words, the college may offer a course -of studies In all of the branches enumerated, except In engineering, liberal arts, peda-gogv, peda-gogv, or the professions of law or medicine. medi-cine.
