Show EASTERN MAN IS LIKELY TO SUCCEED F. L. MORSE HERE No one has been appointed as yet to take the place vacated by the resignation' of f. L. Morse, assistant to President Bancroft of the Utah Light and Railway company. It is understood that no one Is under consideration, but It is likely that another Eastern man will take the place. Morse turned in his resignation two weeks ago, and after two or three days' consideration by President Bancroft, it was accepted. A little more than two months ago Morse came to this city from Brooklyn, where he resigned an Important position with the Rapid Transit company. He t gave as his reason this morning for leaving Salt Lake City that he had received re-ceived and accepted an offer from a street railway In New York City tb assume the duties of a position paying twice as much as he at present receives. "For that reason and no other," said he, I "do I leave Salt Lake City and the street railway company. My stay here has been very pleasant, and I am greatly pleased with Salt Lake and Its people. I feel certain that the future of the city will be an extremely bright one." Morse and his family will leave for New York March L During his stay here his fidelity to duty and his rare executive ability won for Morse the commendation and praise of his superiors. Besides attending at-tending to the duties of superintendent of railway service, he also assisted President Bancroft In attending to the affairs of th light, power and gas departments. . No successor has been appointed as yet to the office of superintendent of railway service, made vacant recently by the resignation res-ignation of W. P. eRad. Orders for fifty new cars have been placed, . and It Is likely they will be In service this fall. |
