The Senato was near passing; the hill, when TOd(?e rose and said "Did I understand the Senator to sav that there was no objection to this bill except that lt had been once vetoed hy the President?" Senator Clark admitted that such was the case. Senator Iode l.vi(thd. and so did everybody, infludlng the Senator from Montana. "But." said Senator Clark, "lt was vetoed ve-toed for a minor defect, which has hen corrected, and there Is no objection to it now." The Senate laughed again and the bill passed without objection. |
