Kitty Cat started it, adopting as her own children a lot of baby ducks who were deserted by the mother duck. In the center Is Kitty Cat who lives in Chicago with the ducklings. When the animals In the big Lincoln park zoo heard about it, the war was on. The Big Moose scowled and aald Kitty Cat had no business adopting the ducklings. tVe how angry he looks! He said ducklings weren't really truly members of the animal kingdom at all! The polar bears were divided. Papa Bear wanted, to give Kitty Cat a cuff on the ear, but Mamma Mam-ma Bear woudln't let him. Sea her holding him back? Mamma Bear said somebody had to take care of the ducklingsso duck-lingsso why not Kitty Cat? The Groundhog; waa disgusted with Kitty Cat and he didn't even wait to see his shadow, but dodged right back into his hole and said he wouldn't come out for a lonb time. His picture is just under the moose. Papa and Mamma Zebra are- a quiet, loving couple (don't they look kind and nice?) and they said Kitty Cat waa a fine animal .to adopt the homeless little ducks. The Baby Fawn thought so, too, and asked the big animals ani-mals not to hurt Kitty Cat. But the animals are still quarelllng about It, and nobody knows how it will come out.
