Fears that the project, will be greatly curtailed as a result of . President Roosevelt's recommendation recommenda-tion that the 1941 appropriation be slashed to $750,000 were expressed at the meeting. - Fisher Harris, attorney for the board, and Leland H. Kimball, engineer, en-gineer, reported the reduced appropriation ap-propriation plus balancea from funds available for the current period pe-riod will not permit beginning of both the Kamas canal diversions and the Duchesne tunnel. Mr. Kimball said Investigation made by him Indicated an additional addi-tional $1,750,000, making a total of $2,500,000, la needed to carry out the entire project in all of Its phases for the year. . He said that $500,000 would be needed to start the Duchesne tunnel tun-nel and carry that work en for a year. |
