Show Cromwell Favors Sharing of Riches LOS ANGELES. Dec. 17 (Al James H. R. Cromwell, 39. who with his wife, the former Doris Duke, controls one of the world's largest fortunes, believes in wealth sharingbut shar-ingbut on a voluntary basis. "Possessors of great fortunes, like my wife or the Rockefellers, should relinquish about one-third of them," he said here, on his way to Honolulu to join Mrs. Cromwell, "but not for government uses. These sums should endow colleges, build orphanages, or-phanages, erect hospitals. "I know I'll get the Bronx cheer for saying the income tax should . be abolished, but soaking the rich is the bunk." |
