In opposing a proposed $45,000 street improvement program, waa characterized char-acterized Saturday by City Commissioner Com-missioner J. B. Matheson a having hav-ing heard but one side of the story. The proposal, introduced by Commissioner Com-missioner Matheson, would anticipate antici-pate collection by the city of $89,-000 $89,-000 in state funds, due in 1938 from surpluses In the motor vehicle registration reg-istration fund. The real estate board protested Friday on the ground that among other objections, objec-tions, the program would be financially finan-cially unwise. In this view, the board supported Mayor E. B. Erwln, who had objected ob-jected to tha city spending money before it waa collected. |
