Show A. S. Cannon Named Director Of L. D. S. Institute at Flagstaff Appointment of Anthon S. Csn-non. Csn-non. a teacher in the L. D. S. church seminary system since 1929, as director di-rector of the new L. D. 8. institute insti-tute of religion, to be established at Flagstaff, Aril., waa announced Saturday by Dr. Franklin L. West, church commissioner of education. The new institute is being established estab-lished to serve the studente of the X- i 'J Arizona State Teachers college, effective ef-fective with the opening of achool thi year. Dr. West aaid the building build-ing ia now under construction and will be ready thia falL A native of Ogden, where ha was born January 26, 1906, Mr. Cannon Can-non haa been active in church affairs af-fairs many yeara He served in the Mexican mission from 1925 to 1928, and entered the service of the church school system in 1929. He taught in seminaries at Grantsvllle. Vernal and Kaysville. Mr. Cannon is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Phi. He was a member of the University of Utah debating team before graduation. He waa awarded the A. B. degree at the university in 1929 and the M. A. degree at the Brigham Young university in 1934, He has completed com-pleted residence work for the Ph.D. degree at the University of Chicago. Chi-cago.
