Sept. 10l-A 10l-A 17-yr-old Stanford university coed told police today a heavy aet young man kidnaped her at pistol point and slashed her with a pair of acuuors In an attempt to aaaault her on a lonely hillside. Chief -of - Pollr Howard Zink Withheld the girl's name, disclosing enly that she was the attractive daughter of a prominent Palo Alto family. He said the girl had not been criminally attacked. The girl appeared, hysterical, late last nlnht at the home of a Stanford Stan-ford university professor. Dr. Joseph Jo-seph 8. Davis. Her face was bleeding bleed-ing from two gashes she said were Inflicted with scissors. Hidden In Aula Chief Zink said the girl told him he had gone to her garage to take ut her automobile for a visit with friends. In the automobile, she related re-lated was a man who pressed a pistol to her side and forced her 1 1 drive into the hills west of the campus. The girl said he forced her tc top the Automobile and attempted to attack her. In a sewing basket In the car was a pair of scissors. She grabbed them and tried tc fight him off. but the man wrenched them from her hand and twice flashed her cheeks. Finally. Zink said the girl told him. the man shoved her out of the automobile and drove away. She aald she lost consciousness for a time and then made her way to Dr Davis' house. (Ives Description The assailant wore pigskin gloves II the time they were driving in the car. She described him as between 2C and 22 years of age. with a deeply rleft chin, heavy eyebrows and dark hair and eyes. He was dres.ned In a light colored polo shirt and dark trousers. Zinc expressed the opinion that the assailant must have been studying study-ing the girl's movements for several days before kidnaping her and probably prob-ably was a Palo Alto resident. State highway patrolmen and police po-lice in near-by cities were asked to aid In a search for the assailant |
