Show They Are Coming Home The first of the American boys ire now on their way home; from war-torn Europe. Other contingents, including a. large number num-ber of Utah boys, will soon be on the high seas homeward bound, and there is a prospect some of them will be here by Christmas day. It would be presumptuous to suggest we arrange a celebration in their honor, for every heart beats a welcome for them and every voice will be lifted in a cheer of joy .when the khaki clad youths arrive. There would be a celebration even if we made no arrange- mentsa e!ebratiQU--Sucii-as.-wouU -bring tears-to -mauy-cyes-and j joy to the boys who come home. j But, let us not stop at the one shout of joy. We should do something that will make the boys realize we appreciate what they have done, not only today, tomorrow and the next day, but for years to come. We are feign to forget, but for this once let us do otherwise; let us erect a memorial building that for generations will afford pleasure and a reminder of our thanks to the boys them srlves, and tor years stand as a glorious evidence of .Utah's appre-- appre-- ciation of what was accomplished on the soil of Franc, the ravaged terrain of Belgium and the rocky slopes of Italy. |
