Show High School Highlights By Jo Hilber The achievement and Individual (tars of the Davi Dart are pretty well known to local prep fans, but thi I not generally the case with the Box Elder Bee, who will battle bat-tle the Big Eight champ In the state final Saturday. Coach Earl Ferguson' Box Elder teams have not been stranger to state class A honors in previous years, but little has actually been written about his aggregation thi season. The Bee have an outstanding outstand-ing barkfleld, which baa actually been the key to their success. The backs include Lee Wight, quarterback; Ronnie Rock, full-bark; full-bark; Bert Hunsaker, left half, and Frank May, right half. Bert Hunsaker is the kind of triple-threat halfback the ingle wing needs to really make it potent. Besides being a hard runner, he doe the punting and the passing for the team. The Bee have had a good aerial game all season and it has been Hunsaker doing the chucking. Favored Receiver Hi favorite receiver on aerial Is Lee Wight, the tignal-calling quarterback on the squad. Wight is the speed-burner on the team and has proven to be a dangerous man when It come to open field running. A faoi He all season ha 1 been a short pass just long enough to get Wight past th line of scrimmage. j Rounding out the talented see- . ondary are Frank May, eoeaptatn j and blocker, and a plunging full- j back named Ronnie Rock. Ron ! is well named, for when a few yards are needed he kite the line i in just th manner hi nam implies. The Bee will be without the services of their other team captain, cap-tain, Ralph Nielson, in Saturday's tilt. A center in the line, he ha been considered the top defensive boy on the team. Taking his place; is DeVon Britenbeker, who until two weeks ago was on of the regular tackle. Other Tackle At th other tackle there is 181-pounder, Maurice Hunsaker. Maurice is' probably th best all-around all-around lineman Coach Ferguson has thi year and he Is sure to give the Dart some trouble Saturday.! The Bee guard include Vernon Watkin and Lewis Knudson. Both are fairly small but ar good blockers block-ers and tackier. Completing th starting lineup are Ronney Dean Harris and LeRon Johnson, who handle th end chore for th Brig-ham Brig-ham eleven. Box Elder ha mixed It single-wing single-wing power with liberal dose of passing In such a way to win seven out of eight game this season. |
