Show Accounting Hit In Liquor Audit rive Utah liquor stores are charged with "particularly bad bookkeeping setups" and five other similar stores were lilted as having "abnormally high shortages short-ages during July and August In an audit report Issued by State Auditor Reese M. Reese for July. August and September. The auditor criticized the Utah liquor control commission and again urged that shortages In agencies be charged to operators. He praised the commission, however, how-ever, for increased efficiency which has made possible a greater profit despite declining sales. The five stores pointed out as having bed accounting record! are store , Logan; store 17. Ogden; store 14, Manti. Sanpete county; store 39, Beaver, Beaver county, and store 67, Pleasant Grove, Utah county. Those with high shortages, re-ported re-ported Mr. Reese, sre store S, Provo; store S. Sslt Lake City; store 10, Tooele, and stores IS and IT, Ogden. The stsle auditor also pointed out that Price and Logan stores violated a commission order of July 1 that cartons be sold and proceeds turned In. Although ltM. Doan. commis-. sion chairman. Friday was withholding with-holding a detailed reply until he had studied the report he said the commission "has made a number of operators take high ahortage losses." He also challenged chal-lenged Mr. Reese to find a market for the cartons In Price and Logan. |
