Show Public Hearing Set on Fresh Water Basin Act Public hearing on the legislative bills providing for cresting a fresh wster bssin in Crest Sslt lske will be conducted at the Newhouse hotel Thursday evening before a Joint mining min-ing and smelting committee of both houses. The committee will hsve before It sn opinion of Deputy Attorney General Gen-eral S. D. Huffaker in which he has included seversl recommendations designed to safeguard the interests of trie state. The recommendsUons are: That conveyance of title to any association formed to undertake the project be confined to tha fresh, wa- -ter area only. t That all mineral rights be reserved. re-served. Thst proceeds or Income from-the proposed project be pledged for loan to construct the dike, but thst no lands be so pledged. Thst unless th project Is completed com-pleted within a specified time all rights be conveyed back to the stste. Thst all rights in the proposed project be reconveyed to the state in the event it is not completed. An interpretation obtained from the opinion Wednesday that the project proj-ect wa declared unconstitutional Is ter was found to be erroneous. |
