The mystery surrounding: the Identity of the man who registered at the VaW ley house Wednesday night, and who was founddead by the proprietor the following fol-lowing morning, under circumstances that pointed very strongly to suicide, has probably been solved. As soon as the case was placed In the hands of Coroner Clark he had a photograph of the dead man taken and wrote a complete description descrip-tion of the body and the effects of (the deceased. These photographs and descriptions de-scriptions were sent to the Chiefs of Police In the larger cities of Montana. Coroner Clark received a telegram from the Chief of, Police of Great Falls, Mont., this morning, which says that the man Is Gus Streit, and that his parents live at Highwood, a suburb of Great Falls. Thewldentlflcatlon Is strengthened by the fact that the dead man registered from Cascade, a small town only a few miles from Great Falls, and had in his possession a number of photographs of girls, whose addresses are given as Great Falls, Highwood and Cascade. . r It is believed that Streit was a member of the Great Falls lodges of Masons and Odd Fellows. ... . The Coroner's Jury has not decided what was the cause of Streit death, and believes that further investigation may iconflrm the suspicion that Streit met with foul play. After a short sitting this morning, the Coroner ordered a recess until 7 o'clock this afternoon. |
