Show FIVE MEN SCALDED BY ESCAPING STEAM Accident at Carnegie Works Hay Result in Several Fatalities. ITTSBURO, Jan. 1. Five men were so badly injured by an explosion at the Carnegie works at Duquesne to day that it is believed all will die. The throttle valve of a stationary engine used to operate a coal crusher,' blew out, and the seven men who were in the engine-house at the time were badly scalded by escaping steam, and some of them were badly cut and bruised. Joseph Carey, the night foreman, was one of the worst injured, being cut about the head and badly scalded over the body. The names of he others have not. been learned. |
