Show TWO DEATHS -ffiOFIIlE - Occupants' of Burning Buildings - Escape In Night Clothes. - CLEVELAND, 0 Jan. 15. Fire early today destroyed two apartment houses near the corner of Euclid avenue and Andrews street East Cleveland, resulting result-ing in the'death of at least two persons and the Injury of several others. The dead: Mrs. Guy Norton, burned to death; Mrs. Jessie Dickey, 45 years old, burned to death. The Injured': Miss Clara Jackson, servant girl, badly burned; Guy Norton, badly burned, serious; the 'Rev. Shoup. pastor of the Wlndemere Methodist church, slightly burned. The origin of the fire is unknown. The fifty tenants of the two buildings were asleep when the flames broke out A panic ensued when they were finally aroused, and many were rescued with the greatest difficulty, nearly all escaping escap-ing in their night clothes. . The total loss is about S60.000, parlially covered by insurance. |
