Show open Shop vote is reconsidered Laundry Workers of Chicago Dissatisfied Dis-satisfied With One Feature of Settlement. CHICAGO, June 9. At a meeting of the Laundry Workers' union last night it was voted to .reconsider the agreement made by the union in reference to open shops, the vote standing 257 to 179. The agreement containing' this clause was signed last Saturday night, and terminated ter-minated the long laundry strike. The action taken last night was the forerunner of a vote that will be taken at a special meeting to be held when the "open shop" proposition will be submitted submit-ted to a final vote. Much dissatisfaction was, expressed at the meeting over the "open shop" agreement, agree-ment, which it was said would ultimately ultimate-ly result in the weeding- out of all union employees. |
