There is any amount of low-grade ore in the mine, and when this is. mined it is found that there is considerable high-grade with it in small bunches. As far as can be done without extra expense this high grade is sorted out and kept separate, and will be shipped when enough of it has accumulated. One lot of this high-grade has already been sent to market. WILL EX-EN TEK LIST. During this month the Sacramento of Mercur will market another car of quicksilver from its ores. There is little doubt in the minds of those familiar with conditions at the property that this shipment will again bring the company com-pany into the list of dividend-payers. Uncle Sam Con. was sought after at 25c. while Yankee Con. sold at 34c and 34c. The morning's totals showed' the transfer of 17.668 shares at a market value of $3803.50. Although the management of the Cluster of Bingham has had the plans drawn and estimates made for a trestle tres-tle and track from the mine to the tracks of the Copper Kelt railroad with loading and receiving bins at both ends it is still uncertain whether the track will be built. If the company builds the bins and tracks and commences to ship ore it will have to call on the shareholders for money to prosecute important development, while if the bins are not built the company has enough money in the treasury to do the development work. DIVIDEND BY MAMMOTH. The Mammoth of Tintlc declared the usual dividend of $20,000 Tuesday, the books closing the same day with payment pay-ment to follow on the 15th. The mine is now in splendid condition and now that the station has been cut at the 2100-foot level the vein will be cut within with-in forty feet of the shaft on that level. It is confidently expected that the contents con-tents of the ore will be much richer at this depth than at any other place in the mine. ever found in the world, has been definitely defi-nitely located under Comnado ground, in the Leadville basin. The amount of wealth in sight is almost beyond the power of science to calculate. It will run into the hundreds of millions. EXPERT INVESTIGATING WYOMING ONYX MINE. CHEYENNE, Wyo., Nov. 2. F. Gaherty, a mining expert of Chicago, is at Hartville investigating the onyx mine owned by Judge J. Hamphoff, the Mayor of Hartville. Judge Hamphoff made a display of onyx at the St. Louis fair and a Chicago man saw the exhibit and immediately sent his expert to make an investigation, and If his report is satisfactory sat-isfactory they will purchase an Interest in the mine and ship the onyx East for commercial purposes. DENVER MEN MAKE STRIKE AT GOLD FIELD. Several railroad men of Denver who invented in a claim at Goldfleld not long ago are jubilant over, the fact that a rich strike has been made on their property. prop-erty. They have received word that the showing is excellent. It is near a mine that sold recently for $250,000. The mine has been named the Homestake. The magnitude of the ore bodies now in sight at the mines of the Ohio Copper Cop-per company of Bingham is a source of satisfaction to the Eastern Interests. N. J. Catrow of Miamifburg, O., who has Just made an examination of the property, is more than pleased with the showing particularly on the 300 level, where the ore body measures' twenty-five twenty-five feet. Expert Hetties of the New-house New-house staff, who is thoroughly familiar with conditions at the mine, and who accompanied Mr. Catrow Tuesday, says that the work of the Ohio company since acquiring the property has easily doubled the. mine's resources. TJNCLE SAM CON. HOIST IS WORKING. . Manager John Dern has returned from a trip to the Unci I Sam Cbn. and reports that the hoist is once more in commission and that the regular ' amount of ore is now being hoisted irom the'mine. The hoist and gallows frame are not .is yet covered over, but the carpenters are now working on the building, which will be completed within a week. The. mill has been enabled to run at a profit all the time that the mine was closed on account of the recent fire, and the repairs have been made without ('.amaging the surplus to any extent, :nd now that things are again in shape the mine will again commence adding . !o the bank account, and will also distribute dis-tribute the usual amount in dividends Jo its stockholders the present rr.oipth. . STAR TINTIC PEOPLE MUCH ENCOURAGED. The management of the Star Con. of Tintlc is feeling very much encouraged about the progress of affairs at the mine just at present. The shipments from the property have been coming to market with great promptness and dispatch, dis-patch, and while the ore has been iow-' iow-' grade in the main, it has afforded profit enough to do all development work RICH FREE GOLD. It is reported from Caliente that on the Ella claim of the Cart. Kidd gold mines, on Virgin river, a 3-foot vein of $100 free gold ore has been opened up by the owners, MepsTS.- Murdock and Weiser. The strike was made In a tunnel tun-nel which for 200 feet had followed a stringer of coarse gold. Three Colorado Springs men, according accord-ing to a citizen of that place, who was here .Wednesday, have secured possession posses-sion of 200 acres of auriferous land in the Humboldt range of Nevada near the famous Sheba mine. The surface crop-pings crop-pings are extensive and the ore vein is reported to be from four to eight feet In width. It is said that a fifteen-ton stamp mill will be erected soon. MINING NOTES. Manager J. E. Hill, Jr., of the Pittsburg Pitts-burg mines at Alta, has gone East to consult with heavy stockholders in that property. Consulting Engineer. Klrby of the Daly AVest returned to Park City Wednesday. Prospectors coming in from the Henry mountains region report that the open season there has been one of unusual activity. Ore and. bullion settlements Tuesday amounted to $121,900. classified as follows: fol-lows: American bullion, $63,700; gold, silver, lead and copper ores, $58,200. The giant Silver King has closed its books on transfers, preparatory to distributing dis-tributing its $100,000 dividend on the 10th. With the arrival of President Dubois and Directors North and Lehman of the Yankee Consolidated from the East, it is reported that work will be resumed on the Blackbird of Beaver, held by the same interests. The Salt Lake Route Exploration company com-pany has organized to develop claims in the Yellow Pine mining district, Lincoln county, Nev. The capital stock is $60,000 in $100 shares. H. S. Joseph is president, Tt. W. Nicol vice-president, J. Oberndorfer secretary and treasurer. There is a well defined and strong feeling among Eastern Interests that the Bingham Consolidated will soon get on the list of the regular bread winners.
