During Dur-ing the lowering of the miners at the Auchcloss shaft of the Delaware, Lackawanna Lack-awanna and Western company at Nan-ticoke, Nan-ticoke, eight miles south of here, today, the eageloal of men was dropped to the bottom of the shaft, a distance of several sev-eral hundred feet. Ten men were in the cage at the time, aini it is reported that all of them were killed. Details are .meager, for the company officials refuse re-fuse absolutely to give out any informa- , tin. It is said thnt the accident was not caused by the cable rope breaking, but 'that something went wrong with the machinery in the engine-ruum ami t'u-! t'u-! cage was carried with great force against the sheaves.
