Th object of the corporation is to protect the interests of stockmen In hipping. It does not encroach upon the field of any other organisation, but sup- , ports them. Its pumoss is owning and operating & numb' agencies at important center of tra ad transportation, these agencies agen-cies t 3 under the supervision of experts ex-perts v nose business it shall be to give personal attention to all consignments i of the corporation, not to sell such consignments, con-signments, or to Interfere with the usual functions of commission salesmen, but to check therh up as to loss or damage by delay or negligence on the part of transportation companies, and to bring prompt action for recovery in all cases where loss have been sustained. The new company is incorporated1 under un-der the laws of Virginia, capitalised at 1500,000, in shares of $100 each, and up- '. wards of half of the capital stock baa already been placed among the big shippers of cattle and sheep through, out the Western States, who believe this to be the business-like way of compelling compell-ing consideration and securing redress. The remaining shares will be similarly placed, at par and for cash, with the continuing view of Increasing the strength of the corporation financially, enlarging lts Influence and -building up for It a sustaining patronage. Agencies will be established as soon as possible at the following points: Kansas City stockyards. South Omaha, Denver stockyards. Fort Worth, Salt Lake City, National stockyards. St. Louis; Union stockyards, Chicago; St Paul, and others will be opened as the sales of stock and agency membership cards to actual growers and shippers Justify. Managing Director Leary is this week attending the big meeting of the North, weot Texas Cattle-Growers' association at Fort Worth, and it is there that the first public announcement of the corporation's cor-poration's organisation has been made, coincident with the filing of the articles of incorporation in Virginia. Mr. Leary expects to establish an agency at Fort Worth, and will visit Denver and Kanj . sas City for the same purpose before returning home, when the Salt Lake agency will be at once Installed. . |
