Cleveland (O.) motormen . and conductors conduc-tors have, received an advance of 1 cent an hour. - EvansvIIle (Ind.) woodworkers are on strike. They demand a nine-hour day with ten hours' pay. Carpenters at New Orleans. La,, have made demands for 40 cents an hour and an eight-hour day. Manchester (Mass.) carpenters have gained an advance of 50 cents a day. They will now receive $3. 'Pilots on the Mississippi at St. Louis, Mo., have struck to enforce a demand for an increase, in wages. Denver (Colo.) molders threaten to go on strike unless granted their demands for a nine-hour day and $3.50. During March there were ninety-seven new charters issued by the national organization or-ganization of the carpenters and joiners. |
