Show GRAVE MORAL SCANDAL, SAYS LONDON BISHOP. LONDON, May 1. At the night session of the London diocesan conference yesterday yes-terday tne Bishop of London, Rt. Rev. Arthur E. Ingram, made a statement to the effect that he had thrice sent for an explanation from Rev. Mr. Hadden regarding re-garding the Vanderbilt-Rutherford wedding, wed-ding, and that none had been received. The galleries and the floor of the little church house, in the shadow of Westminster West-minster Abbey, were crowded In anticipation antici-pation of the bishop's announcement. Arising amid intense silenco, the prelate said he had hoped to present to the conference con-ference an explanation from the officiating officiat-ing clergyman in the matter of the "grave scandal which recently had occurred in the diocese." . He could only surmise that a family bereavement, the death of a child, was responsible for Mr. Hadden's having entirely ignored the bishop's letters let-ters and messages.
