INDIANAPOLIS, May l.Rufus Can-trell, Can-trell, king of the ghouls, and other convicted con-victed members of his band of body-snatchers, body-snatchers, have been sentenced to terms of . imprisonment varying from five to ten years. The cases against Dr. Alexander, Dr. Lolt and Dr. Weight will be dismissed, the ghouls having refused to testify against them. This probably ends the Indianapolis grave-fobbing sensation, which has startled the whole land for the past six months because of the horrifying revelations reve-lations made in the course of the legal investigations and prosecutions. Through- it all Rufus Cantrell has been the central figure, and his confession, confes-sion, in which he accuses college professors pro-fessors and. other medical men of participating par-ticipating in the traffic In dead, bodies, has been the guide for the authorities in every move. . ' . Cantrell declared that, with his band of ghouls., he bad robbed graves in almost al-most every large city east of the Mississippi Mis-sissippi river. The operations in and about Indianapolis were for the purpose of supplying subjects for the medical colleges of that city, and Cantrell declared de-clared that the officers of these Institutions Institu-tions knew all about the body stealing and connived at it. |
