Show HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY Thousands of New Yorkers Went to New England for Turkey. NEW YORK, Nov. 24. More persons whose homes are in New York are spending the day in the country than ever before on a Thanksgiving, to Judge by the records made in the various railroad stations. At one terminal about 650 trains, with more than 3000 cars were handled, which carried about 70,000 passengers to New England and points up the State. It Is estimated that more than 400,000 turkeys were necessary ne-cessary to nil the demand In this city alone, and most of this vast number were sold at 80 cents a pound. |
