HIGHER LEAD rRICE AIDS SMALL MIKES The Increase In the price of lead from $3.50 to $4.25 per 100 pounds, which ' took place today, will apparently not much affect any of the big producers now. Most of them have their product tied up by contracts for a term of years and - wille some at present receive ac , much for their lead aa the new prlc , gives, moat of them are tied up at prices below $4.25. That was the first move of Manager . Whitley when he took charge of the local lo-cal plants of the company, to tie up every big producer for a term of years. -The longer the terms of the contract the better Mr. Whitley liked them and his Judgment has been amply Justified. Some, of the contracts have conditions In them, some specifying that In case of any increase ln the price of lead the producer was to have the benefit of " one-half the Increase. It Is certain that the small producers . "will greatly benefit by the change and that ore nhlch was not paying to ship without more advantageous terms from the smelter will now come pouring pour-ing on the market. The price of $4.25 is not permanent, but is baaed on the actual weekly sales price of domestic desilverized lead in New Tork city and will fluctuate accordingly. ac-cordingly. Without doubt Park City will take on a new lease of life and Tlntlc and Bingham will also be greatly benefited. MAJESTIC SEEKS TO REOPEN ITS PROPERTIES. Word' came yesterday from President W. . B. Mucklow of the Majestic company that a representative of the company's defense committee would leave for Utah rxt week to straighten out the company's affairs and pay off its Indebtedness. . The committee is urging the 860 stockholders stock-holders who have not subscribed to come In and rata 1 28. 000 or $60,000 more to n-' n-' able the company to operate the mines again.
