Show BRIGHAM TO BE PAVED Error Was Made In Estimating: Esti-mating: Frontage Owned by Protestants. . There was an error in the calculations calcula-tions of former Councilman John N. Sharp, Jr.r who appeared before the Council Monday night to protest against the paving of Brlgham street with as-phaltum,' as-phaltum,' when he said he represented the owners of 5280 feet of property fronting on that thoroughfare. He stated last night to the Street committee commit-tee that he represented but 521 feet. Consequently there were not enough ' protestants to defeat the improvement, ' and the Street committee decided last night to recommend to the Council that the ordinance be passed levying the tax for tfce proposed paving. It believed that the residents on the lowt-tnd of the street, from State to E - strex, will prefer asphaltum. In that Case the street will be paved with asphaltum as-phaltum to E street, and with macadam mac-adam from E street to Tenth East. It Is estimated that the cost of paving .with macadam will be about $4 a front ' foot cheaper than with asphalt. |
