Show K LOCAL BASEBALL FANS I HOPING FOR THE BEST Ogden is perhaps a trifle better baseball base-ball town than Helena, but has never shown that- the people of the Junction City will support a big team. The fans In this city have not riven up hope but wait patiently for the league magnates' meeting which will take place in January. Charley Rellly is a great manager and he may be counted on to do -his best for the team In every way. . . V j If hope did not spring eternal In the I fcumtrh breast it is 'a" cinch that baseball base-ball would be dead by this time in. this j nock of the woods. -The season ; last $ summer was unsatisfactory, although f tKe Quality of ball played "was " very good. None of the four teams In the Pacific National league made much j, -. money -and -some of them lost quite f - heavily. - , - 9 . It was unanimously decided tht the league could not continue with . four I clubs, but where the league will get two more towns which can and will r support teams such as prevail In the V Pacific National la still a mystery. Hel-ena Hel-ena and Ogden are mentioned but it is doubtful if either town can manage the financial end of a franchise. Helena . has already had one trial in the Pacific National and was compelled to quit the league on account of. lack of support. |
