Show D. 0. C CONFERS THE-CROSS THE-CROSS OF HONOR Salt Lake chapter. Daughters of the Confederacy, held a meeting at the First Presbyterian church Tuesday evening and conferred the Southern cross of honor on a number of people eligible. . Rev. T. W. Pinkerton was the principal princi-pal speaker of the evening, and eloquently elo-quently portrayed., the lives of noted Southern Generals. . He paid a high tribute to the self-sacrifice of the Southern South-ern women during the War of the Rebellion. Re-bellion. A musical programme was given giv-en and addresses made by several members mem-bers of the local chapter. Those who received the crosses were: Mrs.' Jacob Israel, Mrs. S. M. Day and Hon. William C. HalL Others entitled to the cross, but .who were unable to be present last evening, are George W. Battle, Wilson, Utah; M. H. Clark', M. A. Hobbs, 8. H. Lewis. William W. Rives, Mrs. C. J. Kiser, Mrs. J. F. Bees-ley, Bees-ley, Mrs. William F. Rhodes, all of Salt Lake; Ell Gorton of Heber and S. T. Norrls of Brigh&m City. |
