Show STEAMER WITHSTANDS FURY OF THE STORM NEW TORE. Dec1 28. The British steamer Drumelzier, which went ashore on the sand bar near Fire Island last Sunday, was still aground today. The dense fog blanket which hung over the bay since yesterday had shut the steamer off entirely from view from the shore, and it was feared that she might have broken up in the heavy storm and her crew of thirty-two men been lost. The steamer was showing no sign of distress dis-tress when seen today. The tug was standing near by. The Drumelsier had worked a' little to the west of the place where she etruck on the bar, and the seas were breaking over her. |
