Show TEAM OF HORSES IS' CONFIRMED DRIMARDS NEW YORK, Oct. . City Island, In the Bronx, boasts of a team of horses, confirmed drunkards. The team Is owned by Charles Angus, An-gus, the keeper of the Angus inn, Main street. Their peculiar habit was at first encouraged by their owner, but the beasts' appetites have grown so that the innkeeper Is wondering whether he . had not better get rid of them before they drink him Into bankruptcy. The horses' Jove for stimulants was first noticed when a guest of the Inn provided a pall of beer for them. Angus An-gus thought It a Joke, and as his friends . appeared at his place he would give the team a supply to drink before them. The fame of the animals spread far and wide. After a while, however, the novelty wore off, and. of course, the supply of beer was cut oft; but to the chagrin of Angus he found the horses were not only unwilling but unable to work without their usual supply of beer. Coaxing was tried, but in vain, and a doctor was called. He said the animals displayed all the symptoms of a human under similar conditions, and a regular course of treatment was necessary. |
