The amusement amuse-ment hall was especially decorated for the occasion, and all about the place was the weird effect of Halloween symbol. There were Jack-o'-lanterns and all such seasonable articles of decoration. The receiving party consisted con-sisted of CoL and Mrs. Lockwood. Capt. and Mrs. Morrow, CapL, and Mrs. Jamerson and Lteuts. Allen and Beebe. MRS. DUNCAN M"VICH1E gave the first of the season's receptions Friday. Her morning chocolate was In all ways successful. It was an Innovation here, but it has caught the, fancy of all who were present. The home was tastefully decorated for the occasion. Mrs. McVlchie was assisted by Mrs. O. J. Salisbury, Mrs. Victor M. Clement, Clem-ent, Mrs. A. J. Hoamer, Mrs. Ellsworth Ells-worth Daggett, Mrs. B. C. Woodruff, Miss Lillian Woodward and Miss Stella Stel-la Salisbury. MRS. JAMES MORROW of London. England, Eng-land, who is the. guest of her sister, . Mrs. Jungk, was the honored guest at a charming luncheon given Friday by Mrs. James E. Jennings. The event was one of the delightful affairs of the season. V , MRS.. R. H. CHANNINO will be the hostess at the Country club Saturday, and will serve the customary tea at 4 o'clock. MRS. T. R BLACK was happily sur-prised sur-prised by a party of her friends last Tuesday evening. The affair was planned by Mr. Black, and the men of 'the party assisted the host in making things pleasant the entire evening. GERTRUDE MAYER will entertain Halloween. Hal-loween. THE JUNIORS of the normal class of the University gave a delightful bop at the museum building Friday evening. THE HIGH SCHOOL Athletic association will give a dance in Unity hall Saturday Satur-day evening complimentary to the Og-den Og-den high school football team. MR AND MRS. GEORGE K. FISHER gave a dinner Saturday evening. MR. AND MRS. J. M. CALLOW were visited Friday evening by a large number of friends who called to wish them farewell before their departure for a year's stay in England. MRS. GEORGE W. THATCHER and daughter Phyllis of Logan have arrived ar-rived in New York. They are at home at 272 Manhattan avenue. Miss Phyllis is to study the violin during the winter under the tutorship of Prof. Lichtenberg. |
