Show SPALDIaG EXPECTED TO TAKE BISHOPRIC Although the Rev. Frank Spencer Spalding, recently elected to the Episcopal Epis-copal bishopric of Utah, bas not as yet made any statement as to- whether or not he will accept the appointment. It is the consensus of opinion among the congregation of St. Paul's church, Erie, Pa., that they will lose their pastor. Mr. Spalding received official notification notifi-cation of his appointment from , the Right Rev. Daniel S. Tuttle, D. D., blshsp of Missouri, and presiding bishop of the American church, at Erie Friday. Bishop Tuttle, after felicitating - Mr. Spalding on his election, asks him to Indicate his acceptance or declination of the post, and, if he accepts, to nominate nomi-nate the presbyters who are to attend him when consecrated, and also the preacher of the occasion. The presiding presid-ing bishop also suggested St. Mark's cathedral. Salt Lake City, as the place for the ceremony, but the final' determination determi-nation of the matter will be left to Mr. Spalding. Mr. Spalding will call a meeting of the vestry of his church at an early date, and will talk the matter over with thafbody before announcing his decision. |
